The BIG day . . .
Important details about the ceremony and reception ...
The story . . .

These two first met at a Saugus High student council carwash and then continued to have "coincidental" run-ins at ski trips, Color Day, track meets, the juice machine in the cafe, locker breaks, and so on.  Then it was a junior prom, and then a senior prom, and Michael was off to college.  The two would not live closer than an hour apart for the next 8 years!  After what seemed like 500,000 miles, 3 cars, and 3 college degrees the two finally moved in together in Sturbridge where they decided that living together would be worth the 100+ mile daily commute.  At least they could finally look forward to sharing a home cooked meal and a cup of tea at night together.

The engagement . . .

After nine years and 26.2 miles these two decided to get married and were engaged at the Boston Marathon on April 15th, 2002.  As much as Amy hoped that every day would be "the day" she had already written Marathon Monday off because Michael had enough to worry about with the Wellesley Hills, Heartbreak Hill, and the home stretch down Boylston Street.  But Michael did have something up his sleeve, or should we say in his money belt that he carried in from Hopkington that day.  After the race, the two went for a stroll through the Boston Commons where Michael proposed to Amy while sitting on one of the park benches.
